Moving During Summer Break

School’s out for the summer.  That usually entails keeping the kids entertained, going to the beach, or perhaps packing up the car to take the family on a road trip to an exotic destination. For a number of families, summer is also the perfect time to move.  I should know, since summer always coincides with the height of the moving business. 

When you think about it, it makes perfect sense for families to move during the summer.  With the end of the school year also comes a cessation in having to take the kids to after school activities.  It also means you parents don’t have to worry about helping Johnny and Suzie with their homework for the next couple of months.  In short, it frees a family up to get on with the chore of packing for a move.

Going Green When You Move

For those of you who have read my blog before, you know that I endeavor to provide my readers with all the tricks of the trade when it comes to managing a move.  After all, there is a hard way and an easy way to perform most moving tasks, right?  Today I am going to tackle a moving topic that while a bit complicated, could prove to be the most environmentally beneficial bit of advice I can give.  That’s right, today I’m going to show you how to go green when you move.

Many of you who have been reading my blogs know, there are 101 reasons to move.  Today I will cover something you need to be aware of before you make your next move.  I call them Bad News Neighbors.  If you have moved more than once, you know what I am talking about.  These are the neighbors from hell who make living next to them like something out of a Stephen King novel.  While the exception rather than the rule in neighborhoods from coast to coast, what you want to avoid is living right next to these unpleasant folks.
